Mia Huna Estate
We arrived in Kauai as a group of five from California, Vermont and South Andros, Bahamas. We range in age from 25 to 63 with diverse interests and abilities. While this mix might be a challenge for some, we found the balance upon our arrival at Mia Huna Estate. We are all seasoned travelers with high expectations and a realistic ability to compromise. There was no compromise here. Individually and collectively, this is the finest vacation rental property we have experienced. The setting is visually and sensually rich with color, variety and sound. The breezes and the birds, the flowers and the views are spectacular. The pool and spa are welcomed at each day's beginning and end. The home, however, is a highlight. Both houses are commodious, furnished tastefully and comfortably with a warm and welcoming feeling. Sleeping was luxurious, interrupted only by the rising sun and the early alarm clock of a local rooster. Although we understand that there are numerous culinary choices for dining out on the island, we chose to dine in for our dozen nights. We found both kitchens to be well appointed with appliances, cookware and everything needed for both elegant and casual dining. It was great fun to fill the larder daily with fresh local food. Grilling fish was a must and sharing our candlelight dinners was a pleasure. This island is a treasure and Mia Huna is a pot of gold. In a single word, it is luscious. We have traveled widely and have more than 35 years of vacation rental experience. Mia Huna is luxurious and without question, the most beautiful rental home in all our travels. The furnishings are gracious and comfortable. The pool and spa are delightful. The estate landscaping and views of the mountains and ocean are incredible. Mia Huna is a truly extraordinary experience.

Peggy and I would like to start by saying THANK YOU so much for allowing us to be guest in your home. Mia Huna has to be one of the most special places to stay on Kauai. This home has it all-- I mean everything. We went to Kauai to get married and spend our honeymoon and its our belief that Kauai is a very magical island and so too is Mia Huna. From the ocean view to mountain view to hot tub to pool our expectations were so surpassed by this home. We think of the North Shore and Mia Huna as" Heaven On Earth." We hope someday to return to this Paradise called Mia Huna in Kauai. Christian and Peggy Bowen - September, 2009
Hanalei Retreat Hale
A short note to say my wife and I are packing up to leave from our 5 night stay. We've had a great time. Very relaxing place to stay and with a perfect location - walk to beach and town in 3-5 minutes. Very comfortable unit with everything you need, and charming. Also feel like it's a great bargain compared to where we have stayed before.

In 2005 we stayed (at Hanalei Retreat Hale). We had all the conveniences of home, Rob the caretaker was always available and we had his cell # if we needed anything. The owners made us feel welcomed. They made sure that Hanalei Retreat Hale is very clean and has comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is setup completely 'just add food', plenty of linens, beach towels, chairs and boogie boards. The facility has a laundry room, outdoor shower and hot tub. We especially appreciated the free long distance calling to the mainland. Across the street is Hanalei Beach that is clean and great for swimming. The rental is in walking distance to shops, restaurants,a grocery store, post office and three churches. Every Saturday, there is a Farmers Market held just up the street with fresh vegs, fruits and local crafts. We have recommended Hanalei Retreat Hale to several of our families and friends. We really enjoy the relaxed way of life and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you on Beautiful Kauai.

We loved the location of this rental, as well as the hot tub! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Polynesian Cafe for lunch and Postcards for dinner. We had a phenomenal trip.

the unit had a lot of space...when we needed anything rob was there for us...we enjoyed just walking to the beach and to ching young village...everything was very close...we could have had better weather, more sun but it worked out....we loved just driving all over the island and discovering different things to do...we liked kalypso, bubba burgers, and the small family type restaurants...next time we return will have to come when the weather is warmer...we didn't get to learn how to surf...that will be on our next agenda...what a great trip...

To be honest, the pictures on the website really don’t do the site justice. It undersells the property and the location. The accommodations EXCEEDED our expectations on every level. We had a large, diverse group. Linda and the team were absolutely a joy to work with from a booking standpoint and providing us a very good price. Additionally, the houses were well appointed, comfortable and were in an EXCELLENT location to everything we wanted access to in Kauai – except for the South Shore… but that’s not anyone’s fault. We were able to host a large cook-out/bbq and comfortably seat everyone in the yard. There was ample parking spaces and we made great use out of the onsite equipment including grills, tiki torches, boogie boards, and kayaks. Rob was very responsive and helpful. Everyone in the group loved it and we could not have a more perfect vacation. Thank you for the role you played in making it a reality!

First of all, thank you for being so very gracious, accomodating, and patient with regard to my numerous emails and especially with my request to change the dates for the 2 bedroom unit. You definitely went above and beyond the call of duty, and I would definitely recommend that people rent from your properties in the future. Second, the houses themselves were very comfortable and I know everyone enjoyed themselves and felt at home. The houses were in the perfect location in Hanalei Bay. The upstairs two-bedroom screened in porch was a great place to have a big dinner! I think the only comments people had were that they would have loved to see more air conditioners in the rooms. You can absolutely use my good comments on the website. Thanks again -- I will certainly be contacting the next time I find myself on Kauai again. All best,

The place was really nice. It looks better in person than online (which is an exception in the hotel/lodging industry). It was so convenient to have the snorkel gear, chairs, grill available. It was awesome. It is nice to see someone that takes pride in ownership and tries to keep maintained.

Sugar Mill Cottages
Aloha Linda..... I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at the Sugar Mill Cottage #9. We loved the seclusion and quiet. Everyday walking to Shipwreck or Poipu beach was always an adventure....to include a sudden downpour that added to the entire ambience of our vacation. We live in the desert in California and rain is a rarity! We are planning a family reunion after the first of the year and will be checking out the north shore of Kauai as a potential place to stay.......we are looking for a large house to acommodate up to 10 people. I'll be sure to look on the kauai-rent website. I have recommended the Sugar Mill Cottages to several of my friends and family who are planning Hawaii trips in the near future. Kauai is my favorite island. Again, mahalo for your assistance with what turned out to be the best Hawaii vacation yet !
